Discover Scuba Diving

The PADI Discover Scuba Diving program at Laguna Diving Centre allows those who have never tried it to safely experience the thrill of scuba diving.

The Laguna Discover Scuba Diving Course involves a very limited amount of the theory of scuba-diving, placing all the emphasis on the experience of being underwater. Your Instructor will conduct a training session, which involves getting use to the equipment and basic skills needed for your first open water dive.

The first time experience being able to breath under water is strange to imagine for most people.

At this day you get prepared from Laguna Divers for escaping to an unique part of our world with vivid colours, pristine beauty and fascinating aquatic creatures. Lanta Laguna Divers will teach you the basics of diving and take you through some of the easy skills you will practise in our training pool, with a maximum depht of 3 meters.

The Discover Scuba Diving Course is the easiest and safest way of experiencing the wonders of the undersea world. Price 98 Euro

Open Water Diver ( OWD )

This course is the most popular entry- level course in the world of diving.

We at Laguna Beach Club, Dive and Resort will take you from your first breaths underwater right through to planning dives for yourself and future dive buddies from all over the world.

A four day course, full of adventure and fun.

You'll learn all the diving theory through professional teaching from one instructor of our helpfully and friendly Laguna crew.
Throughout the course, you'll learn fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques.

During the first and second day we teach you all the necessary skills, set up by the Professional Association of Diving Instructors PADI, including several sessions in our training pool On the third and fourth day you join the Laguna fun-divers on our 37 ft. custom-built dive speedboat to do all together four dives to a maximum of 18 meters out in the Andaman Sea.

You will also earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification that is recognized worldwide. You earn this rating by completing some pool dives and knowledge development sessions and by making four open water dives out in the ocean. As a certified PADI Open Water Diver you have the freedom to dive with a buddy independently anywhere in the world.

Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification. Price 299 Euro

Advanced Open Water Diver (AOWD)

The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver program fine tunes your dive skills and allows you to explore some of diving's top adventures.

It is a commonly known fact that as an open water diver you are certified to a maximum depth of 18 m. Most dive operators around the world will plan the first dives of the day to a depth greater than 18 m.

We at Laguna Diving Center give you the advice to be a responsible diver and take the steps to ensure your own safety, the PADI Advanced Open Water Course is the right way to improve your diving skills and knowledge.

The Advanced Open Water is a course which will take your diving to new dimensions.

It includes 5 dives with Laguna Divers in the Andaman Sea, of which you have to do a deep dive ( 18-30m ), a navigation dive and another 3 elective dives. The elective dives include for example the multilevel dive, where you learn how to plan your dive into multiple depths and thereby extending your allowed bottom time. Or the underwater naturalist dive where you learn with Laguna Divers to identify fish, vertebrates, plants and marine ecology.
While diving around Koh Lanta you will realize, that this is just the perfect place for such a dive, colourful and inhabited with thousands of species.

After successfully completing the course, you'll receive the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification.
This allows you to participate in more advanced diving activities with a maximum recommended depth limit of 30 metres / 100 feet, in addition to the qualifications listed for PADI Open Water Divers. Rescue Diver

How do you take a subject like accident prevention and management and turn it into fun ?

Here at Laguna Divers Resort and Dive Centre, we call it the PADI Rescue Diver program !

It is acclaimed by thousands of student's world wide as being the best diving course they have ever taken. Scuba Diving is one of the safest action sports being conducted on a global scale;
however the need to have good divers trained to deal with an emergency situation is greater now than ever with the increased numbers of entry level divers being trained.

Laguna Divers are thinking that this course will turn you into an aware and responsible diver - if you aren't already.

During a minimum of three days you will complete the water sessions and learn the correct procedures to follow when managing a rescue scenario and how to deal with panicked, distressed and unconscious divers under water and on water surface.

The Laguna PADI Rescue Diver program develops your knowledge and skills so you can effectively perform diver assists and rescues, manage diving accident situations and render first aid.

The program is an important step in expanding your knowledge and experience as a diver. PADI Rescue Diver (or equivalent) certification is also a prerequisite for all PADI leadership programs.

To become a Rescue diver you need successfully completed the EMERGENCY FIRST RESPONSE or should be certified in CPR within the last 3 years - we will teach you PADI Medic First Aid.
The theory includes self rescue, rescue scene management, equipment considerations etc.

To get into the PADI Rescue Diver program here at Laguna Diving Center, you'll need to be certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or Advanced Plus (or equivalent) and must be at least 15 years old.
The PADI Junior Rescue Diver program is available if you're between the ages of 12 and 14 and hold a PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Diver or Advanced Plus (or equivalent) rating.

The PADI Rescue Diver program covers:

» self-rescue and diver stress

» swimming and non swimming assists

The PADI Emergency First Response program covers basic training for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and emergency care.
In addition, it's a medically based program covering primary care, secondary care and treatments following national consensus guidelines.

The program is designed for divers and non divers, and also meets the CPR and first aid prerequisite for earning your PADI Advanced Plus rating and Padi Rescue Diver. So if you're seeking CPR/first aid training to meet a diving program requirement or for personal enhancement, this program is for you.

After successfully completing the program, you'll receive the internationally recognized PADI Rescue Diver certification card.

Divemaster

The PADI Divemaster course is your first step to becoming a diving professional, whether it is to become actively involved in the recreational side of Scuba Diving at dive resorts, or to simply increase your diving knowledge and confidence.

After successfully completing PADI Advanced Open Water and Rescue Diver training you'll work closely with a PADI Instructor to expand your diving skills and knowledge to the professional level.
You'll learn and practice supervising diving activities and assisting with student training.
PADI Dive Centers and Resorts employ PADI Divemasters to help with classes as well as lead guided dive tours on boats or on shore.

The Dive master course we provide is to prepare you for every eventuality in your new role as a diving professional.

Theory and practical evaluations will be conducted throughout the course consisting of written exams and problem solving situations.
The subjects covered in the classroom lectures from your instructor include physics of diving, physiology, the recreational dive planner, diving skills, environment awareness and a section of diving equipment. Practical sessions include supervision of students, preparing and giving dive briefs for an actual dive trip.

The candidates' diving skills will be evaluated in various ways, demonstrating skills such as regulator recovery and mask clearing to students, all of which will be carried out under the direct supervision of your personal instructor who will be guiding and giving you confidence, all the way.

Map making and the organization of an emergency evacuation plan at the end of the course, will come naturally to our dive-master students.

The PADI Divemaster program is your first step to leadership level in the PADI system of diver education.

This rating denotes you as a person who:

» Has a high level of personal diving skill.

» Has instructor level knowledge of diving theory.

» Has had significant training in how to assist an instructor during training activities.

» Is able to assume appropriate responsibilities that benefit the welfare of other divers.

» In other words, you're the cream of the crop and we want you !

As a PADI Divemaster, you'll be qualified to:
Organize, conduct and supervise recreational diving activities, both land and boat based.
Assist PADI Instructors in conducting PADI Diver programs.

To qualify for PADI Divemaster training, you'll need to:

* Be certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or equivalent).

* Be certified as a PADI Rescue Diver (or equivalent).

* Have logged a minimum of 20 open water dives prior to entry into PADI Dive master training, and completed and logged a minimum of 60 open water dives with experience in night, deep and navigation prior to certification as a PADI Divemaster.

* Be at least 18 years old.

* Be in good physical condition for diving and submit a medical exam form signed by a physician.

Upon successfully completing the PADI Divemaster program, you'll receive a certification card which will denote this rating.

You'll also become a member of PADI and receive benefits, including the ability to purchase professional liability insurance ( which may be required to conduct some activities ).
